I have a wish

A hope

A prayer

A simple one

Yet somehow it has become a complexity.

It is this-

I pray that everyone gets to bask in the energy generated when a young person creates purely from deep within their being.

As a mother of four and Luminous Youth co-director  I have witnessed this over and over again.

What an absolute blessing.

When I get to be there for  this I feel close to divinity.

I can feel spirit blooming forth from its own home  and expressing itself within this realm.

It feels like purity

It feels like truth

It feels like a holy energy

Most people will roll their eyes and scoff at this.

But that’s because they’ve not felt it yet.

It an expression of the heart outside the body.

So vulnerable and utterly perfect in its authentic expression.

In this age of forgetting most people never get to close their eyes and melt into the beauty of a creation or learning culminating from this wild place.

Learning and creation has become so homogenised, so predictable and non relevant to the individual.

About filling our young people with abstract information until they are overflowing.

About teaching and telling and instructing.

Rare is it that we curiously wonder what is inside this young  being.

What has ventured all the way over here into this reality to express itself?

How can I be of service to that?

What can I learn?

And when our hearts are open in this way, being present  as a young person expresses themselves in this way it can feel like a spiritual experience.

A moment where you shake your head and all that you can muster from your lips is a whispered “wow”.

Don’t get me wrong, these expressions of “wow” may not be considered so by the current education system.

I mean “wow” as in you get to deeply know the heart and soul of that person.

You get to see a part of what is inside them on the outside.

You get to witness a thread of their beautiful tapestry yet to be fully woven.

And like a newborn life it may be messy.

It may be nonlinear. It may require listening with our hearts and feeling into it.

It is but a beginning.

When handled with care this is as close to purity as you’ll get here on earth.

Yet we blunder and boss and berate our young people.

We bend and contort and manipulate them into a shape that someone somewhere decided was the best fit for all.

What a travesty.

What an absolute travesty.

We are starving ourselves of beauty and truth when we surrender our children to a system that does not see inside them.

We are starving ourselves of creations and answers to our greatest questions by talking and teaching over the top of them.

We are starving ourselves of the subtle energetic realms in which all great creations are born.

We are starving them of great elders and diversity by insisting teachers are only University trained humans.

What of the vast more than human world just waiting to share.

So so much richness and possibility awaiting us.

I’m so grateful I’ve been and still am privy to these moments when creation springs forth.

I’m so grateful to be working alongside Paul to be creating a wider and wider safe container for these unfoldings within the Luminous Youth project.

In the coming times I feel called to work with mothers to remember the art of holding and protecting the truth of their children and their descendants.

And those with the courage to will drink deeply from the nectar of creation beyond the narrow narrative we find ourselves in.

I look so forward to sitting around a table with you all, drinking hawthorn and motherwort  tea.

Sharing stories of unthinkable learnings witnessed and trying to find the words for how it felt in our bodies to have been basking in the energy of truth.

But of course we all know these words don’t exist.

Only our hearts will be able to communicate such things to each other.
